The Australian Institute of Employment Rights is delighted to announce the appointment of Clare Ozich to the role of Executive Director.
After starting work as a solicitor, Clare worked at the Office of Native Title in WA, and as a legal officer with UnionsWA before moving into the political sphere as a Policy Advisor and then Director of Policy in the office of Bob Brown and then Christine Milne at the Australian Greens.
Clare brings to the AIER a substantial knowledge of workplace relations law, policy and current workplace issues; a commitment to the values, rights and principles that the AIER promotes; and an ability to work constructively with a wide variety of interest groups including unions, employers, academics, lawyers, and politicians.
Background
Clare Ozich replaces Lisa Heap, who resigned recently to pursue other interests, after 8 years in the role.
The AIER is an independent think tank on workplace rights, influencing practices and policy through research papers, advocacy and debate, as well as through its internationally recognised framework for workplace practices: the Australian Charter of Employment Rights and the Australian Standard of Employment Rights.
